We were up early, the alarm went off at 4 am, we were in the lobby with our luggage at 5 am. We headed to the airport for a flight to Copenhagen, Denmark.
We immediately began our tour of the city and other special places. Our guide was Kristen and the driver was Peir. We were told there are 500 islands only 50 are inhabited. There is a bridge that connects Denmark and Sweden that is 10 miles long. They have had 54 Kings and 1 Queen, most of them were named Christian.
Hans Christian Anderson lived in this building. We took a picture of his statue from the bus while it was raining.
The Church of our Lady refers to Mary, however, there is nothing that refers to her in any way in the Church. It is over 82 feet from floor to ceiling and can seat more than 1100 people. This is where we find the original Christus completed by sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen standing above the altar. It also has statues of the original 12 apostles.
Fredrick's Church known as the marble church and has the largest church dome in Scandinavia with a span of 102 feet resting on 12 columns.
Fredrickborg Palace or Castle was built as a royal residence for King Christian IV. The palace church serves as the local church today and is part of the museum. It houses the Danish Royal Family's art collection most notably the works on the life of Jesus by Danish Painter Carl Heinrich Bloch| Coat of Arms on walls and our guide, Irene |

As a special treat our guide took us to the Copenhagen Harbor where many of the early Saints boarded ships headed for America. There is a statue of Kristina one of the first to be baptized. Among the cobble stones there are bricks engraved with names of some of the Saints who left from here.I had a special feeling that Grandpa Mads Frederick Hansen left from here and I felt I would find his brick but didn't.
